Situazione drammatica e dimenticata nella Repubblica democratica del Congo

How can you be sitting there
Telling me that you care -
That you care?
When every time I look around,
The people suffer in the suffering
In everyway, in everywhere.
...
I tell you what: some people got everything;
Some people got nothing;
Some people got hopes and dreams;
Some people got ways and means.

Bob Marley, Survival

Violence silent and forgotten in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Thousands and thousands of people have been displaced and attacks perpetrated by the Ugandan rebel group the Lord's Resistance Army are unprecedented brutality. Doctors Without Borders, in many places the only humanitarian organization in the country, tells of children forced to kill their parents and people burned alive in their homes.
In March 2009, MSN has published a report on year 2008, the ten most serious humanitarian emergencies in the world totally ignored by the Italian television:

  • the health crisis in Zimbabwe ;
  • the humanitarian catastrophe in Somalia ;
  • the health situation in Myanmar ;
  • civilians trapped in war Eastern Congo (DRC)
  • the child malnutrition ;
  • the critical situation in Somali region of Ethiopia ;
  • i civili uccisi o in fuga nel Pakistan nord-occidentale;
  • la violenza e la sofferenza in Sudan;
  • the Iraqi civilians need of assistance;
  • the HIV-TB co-infection .
As is noted in the report, "A dramatic event involving a fellow is more news of events or situations that perhaps involving a larger number of victims, but are culturally and geographically more distant "(page 25). So, the question Somali television news of RAI and Mediaset to devote a total of 178 services, of which 93 relate to Italian citizens involved in the crisis.
Speaking of child malnutrition: a "year of hunger," as defined in the report, deserves 110 news, a "winter flu" 121. In Zimbabwe, a country where life expectancy is 34 years and where at the end of August 2008 a cholera epidemic broke out, 12 are devoted to news, while the summer of Briatore and Gregoraci, 33 news. And Ethiopia, dominated by malnutrition and lack of health care, a total of six services a year.

How Much Money Do You Need To Open A Pet Shop

Quanto sono normali gli atteggiamenti mafiosi nel nostro paese

E 'yesterday's news that the Constitutional Court has declared Lodo Alfano unlawful, the law providing for the suspension of prosecutions for the President of the Council of the Republic and of the chambers. Obviously it was a law ad personam, or rather to Silvio Berlusconi. Yesterday we almost all cheered up for Facebook, but we all wrong, perhaps. What a pity a country where we continually discuss legal problems of the Prime Minister. On both sides. The people of deference to the right shows absolutely everything that Berlusconi says or does, as if it were really the Lord's anointed. I can not understand how they can really believe it is haunted by the courts ... possible that all angry with him? The only answer is that they are incapable of thinking thoughts own and believe in everything the Divine Augustus says. Or are they so afraid of "communists" (but where are they?) Berlusconi who prefer to forgive rather than vote for the other party or not vote at all. The opposition, meanwhile, is so incapable of doing politics that broke to a decision of the Constitutional Court.
The decision yesterday could not have a political content, because the legal solution to the issue Lodo Alfano was clear and straightforward: Article 3 of the Constitution provides that all are equal before the law, the only exceptions to the rule general are provided in the Constitution, therefore, to add a new immunity law takes a Constitutional (personally, I think the Lodo Alfano would still be unconstitutional if couched in those terms, even if approved by constitutional law, for reasons I will explain whether a constitutional law on the subject). Our joy, our reactions, however, have somehow turned into a political sentence. From a passion for constitutional law, I shared the Court's decision, but I also rejoiced because Berlusconi, in particular, it will hit. As a scholar of law, I am satisfied, but as a citizen behind the joy I feel sad, disappointed, with no hope for this country: Berlusconi's words yesterday in Port a porta (Napolitano che avrebbe dovuto influenzare i giudici della Corte) palesano un atteggiamento tipicamente mafioso.

Il lodo Mondadori e Berlusconi visto all'estero

Un'altra sentenza che conferma ciò che un signore Irish told me a few days ago:

"Berlusconi, a great man, But Especially honest."

Can You Bring A Pet On A Plane Without Paying

Ambiente e pelletteria...

Environment Minister Stefania Prestigiacomo and 'currently under investigation for embezzlement by prosecutors in Rome to buy not just some "institutional" facts with the paper of the Ministry ... involving heads of high fashion and leather goods.
As often happens, the investigation of alleged embezzlement and 'game as a result of interceptions, including an official of the ministry and another person needed in another judicial proceeding. The
Corrier and says, "the investigators must determine whether any such purchases were made for personal reasons or for institutional reasons." I wonder what reasons the 'Ministry of the institution "could justify the purchase of high fashion garments ... and especially leather! Nonsense, maybe ...
The presumption of innocence and 'compulsory ... but let me laugh on the subject of inquiries concerning our rulers, revealing weaknesses traditionally attributed to both sexes: women for men ... clothes for women!
PS Any reference to Berlusconi and 'purely coincidental.
