From a local newspaper ad that surprised me, I translate it by changing the name of the person concerned:

After emergency surgery was resting quietly
at home with his family.

When I read the announcement I thought: ah, these Americans, not just pre-emptive wars, even obituaries quotes then looking back .... well ... it could be a good idea. Today, where everything 's so pragmatic, "cold" and held until the last moment of life, to die surrounded by friends and colleagues who tell part of our lives and in their memories from their point of view and 'have lived as a bit' more '.
